panozzolaura@hotmail.com Laura's studies began in 1994 in Chicago; she studied painting at Columbia College and then focused on sculpture, painting and art history at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 1998 she took residence in Florence, Italy and studied fresco muralism, batik, art history and performed an independent study in painting at Studio Art Centers International (S.A.C.I.) Laura has transformed a world of life experiences into strange and beautiful icons and narratives of everyday living. Her work has been described as "a celebration of her Mediterranean and Latin heritage." Her visions are interpreted in a wide spectrum of media from oils, acrylics and latex emulsions to terra cotta, porcelain, cast marble resins and wood carvings. Laura has exhibited at Augenblick, Fridas, Le Garage, Strawdog Theatre, and Phoebe 45 in Chicago during 1994 - 1998. She has exhibited internationally at Nabucco Gallery and S.A.C.I. Gallery in Florence, Italy during 1998 - 2000. She has exhibited at Gilda's, Silver in the City, Indianapolis Arts Center gallery and Dean Johnson Gallery in Indianapolis from 2000 to present as well as an exhibition at Yemaya Galeria in Isabela, Puerto Rico. Laura now lives in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico where she devotes her life to painting and sculpting. She is an instructor for workshops at El Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico and exhibits regularly throughout the island, as well as domestic showings in the United States.
